FRONTIER FORESTRY

Investors In Diversity

Frontier’s circular economic model is to work with nature: generating sustainable forestry returns for generations to come

Sustainable, Resilient, Healthier Forests

We must urgently restore the balance between ecology, economics, and human health to make forestry sustainable. The return on investment from forestry is more than capital; it is a better quality of life for tens of millions of people.

Frontier Forestry was established in 2023 to solve forestry’s biggest problems by returning to first principles. As practical investors, we see things through the lens of enterprise; not just how things are, but how things can be done much better.

Organising multi-disciplinary people to work on sustainable forestry investments is how we do this. Turnaround, project by project, site by site, unlocking the full potential of the land. The business model of commodity forestry has taken forestry to a dangerous place. The opportunity is now open to turn this around: to responsibly improve the business of forestry, to de-risk climate change, and restore biodiversity together.

The problems facing forestry and climate and biodiversity are urgent, and serious, and directly connected. They are all man-made; and downstream of a commodity output model.

There is no substitute for change

The economics of forestry are on a path of self-destruction; the antithesis of sustainable. WHY? Commodity mindset: ignore the hidden costs. The system seemed to work for 70 years, because hidden costs and hidden risks have been accumulating (at other people’s expense). The response to this crisis is to grow trees from a platform of sustainability, as a first principle. Sustainability is non-negotiable. A diverse and sustainable new model must add more value at each stage than it takes away.

Forestry decisions today must serve generations to come.

Each crisis represents a turnaround opportunity. Each problem has its economic resolutions. Each problem can be modelled and mastered scientifically, and incentives realigned to serve our common goals. The forestry of the future should make many stakeholders better off.

Innovation. This is how we solve all great problems.

By returning to first principles thinking, root causes of problems can be neutralised and turned around.

Frontier is advancing new solutions for forestry that are demonstrably better than the status quo.

We must listen carefully to what Mother Nature is telling us. Tipping points are coming. Frontier is on an innovation journey to restore the balance of forestry before these tipping points take positive choices away from us.

Frontier invests in research and development to discover and advance positive changes to counter these risks. Positive new forestry models represent new investment opportunities, with many beneficiaries. Each is designed to reward investors, local communities, and biodiversity.

Forestry diversification makes more sense than ecological & economic collapse. It is our privilege to deliver this.
